Tyra Kleen – Ständigt sökande (Forever searching)

Tyra Kleen (1874–1951) was an artist, spiritualist, and world traveller in the early 20th century. Drawn to occult circles, she developed a symbolist artistic expression. Her determination to challenge societal, religious, and social norms became the driving force behind both her art and her writing.

Tyra Kleen – Ständigt sökande (Forever searching) is based on the latest research on Tyra Kleen and presents her work in its entirety, including several pieces never before shown.

The exhibition is produced by Norrköpings Konstmuseum (Norrköping Art Museum) and draws on the most recent research by Karin Ström Lehander, PhD candidate at Åbo Akademi University, Finland. It is a collaboration between Norrköpings Konstmuseum, Uppsala konstmuseum (Uppsala Art Museum), Bohusläns Museum and Hallands Konstmuseum (Halland Art Museum), running from 2024 to 2026.
