The Hallandsgården Open-air Museum

The Hallandsgården Open-air Museum lies on Galberget, a hill in central Halmstad. Founded in 1925, it is a wonderful destination for anyone interested in experiencing life in days gone by. Visit Eldsberga schoolhouse, the Hörsåsstugan medieval cottage or the stables and discover first-hand what life was like in the past with the help of an audio guide or one of our knowledgeable tour guides. You’ll find a variety of cultivated plants, like Portland roses, herbs and hops growing all around the buildings. There’s also an outdoor café in summer, a popular playground and a small exhibition space.

The area is open year round. The open-air museum is open every day June 6 through August 13 from 11 am to 5 pm. Admission is free unless otherwise indicated. The programme of events is subject to change.
