Under ytan (Beneath the Surface)

The world beneath the surface is exciting and fascinating, but also evocative and threatening. Beneath the surface lies the unseen, the hidden and the forgotten – something latent lying in wait. It’s biding its time, both in the actual place beneath the surface of the waves and deep down in the human mind. This double meaning provides the point of departure for the exhibition. With installations and video art, we endeavour to convey the feeling of being Under ytan (Beneath the Surface), where the works help us to reflect on our relationship to the unknown and the unexplained – but also our own impact on the place beneath the water’s surface.

This exhibition is part of the regional collaboration Water Reflections – Halland 2025. Read more.
