From Bærtling to Multikonst
Even today, many are attracted by the colorful patterns and characteristic furniture designs of the 1950s and 1960s. Design whose expression and coloring are very close to the abstract art of the time. After the Second World War, the role of art and artists changed. They looked for new materials, expressions and places with the desire that artistic quality would become part of everyone’s daily life. The exhibition From Bærtling to Multikonst shows how the inaccessible gallery-art found its way into our living rooms, through mass-produced furnitures and fabrics for any home.
